Operating a facility such as ours in Haiti is surprisingly expensive, and the number of children’s lives we can influence is purely a function of funding.
Our programs are funded entirely by private donations, and one hundred percent of all donations are directly channeled to the costs associated with running and maintaining the operation. The administrative overhead of Chances for Children is kept to a minimum, and is paid for by the founders. The founders and board members do not recieve any financial renumeration - our time is all donated. We are passionate about changing the lives of these children and we are not bashful in asking for donations, because we are confident your donation is being put to good use.
While we are cost conscious, we are equally conscious in creating and maintaining a one of a kind environment for the children. To give you an understanding of how your donation would be put to use, here are some of our basic cost categories that your money would be applied towards.
Medical includes initial testing and treatment, medications, two full time nurses and our regular pediatrician.
Educational Development, a staff of educators and the supplies necessary to support the learning
Care Givers, we offer a 24/7 four to one caregiver ratio to insure outstanding care for each child. All caregivers are trained and certified prior to joining our staff
Food, each child receives three nutritious meals each day. Nutrition is a vital component of each child’s transformation and we do our best to provide exceptional variety and substance each day.
Safety. We employ a full time security staff to ensure the security of the facility and all of its occupants
Power and Water, Two things we take for granted in our country, but without our generator, well, and back up systems we would not have power or potable water
Leadership, our facility has on site supervision at all times.
Maintenance, our magnificent 14,000 square foot facility is enclosed in a four-acre parcel of land. We have a play yard and a garden that serve the children. The structure and the surrounding yard is maintained and managed year round.
Every Donor will receive quarterly updates and progress reports. All of us at Chances for Children are profoundly grateful for any contribution that you are willing to make to this cause.
