2,226 Haitians have tested positive for COVID-19. Haiti celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday, honoring the mothers who work around the clock to provide for their families. The mothers we employ, including our nannies, cooks, and artisans, are amazing examples of resiliency, love, and strength. Each one of them is thankful to have regular work to provide opportunities for their children including consistent meals, a stable home environment, education, and more. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: 450 pounds of seeds arrived in Haiti last week, thanks...

1,320 Haitians have tested positive for COVID-19. MEDICAL CLINIC: Our medical and dental clinic at our main site in Kenscoff will remain closed at least until Haiti sees improvement in the number of virus cases and the country reopens. This is a large increase in cases based on the limited testing centers.  Haiti has been hit hard by natural disasters, corruption, poverty, food scarcity, and disease for decades, but this past year has been one of the most difficult for the country and the current spread of the virus brings Haiti to a breaking point. With the close of Dominican Republic’s border,...

Haiti has 234 confirmed cases. According to CNN, “Close to four million Haitians were already facing hunger before the Covid-19 crisis. With the continued depreciation of the gourde [Haitian currency], the steady rise in food prices, and new restrictions on movements and disruptions of economic activities, the most vulnerable Haitians will be pushed deeper into poverty.” CRECHE: We mailed out the most recent craft completed by our creche kids to their sponsors! We encourage each sponsor to...

Haiti currently has 108 confirmed COVID-19 cases from the country’s 1 testing center. Inflation has skyrocketed as a result of business and market closures and difficulty getting goods in and out of the country. Just a week ago, $1USD = 97 gourdes and today $1USD = 108 gourdes. We pray for provision and protection over every Haitian.
